Susan Edwards, manager of Regional One Health’s East Campus Imaging Center, said the level of radiation in the tests is low and safe. “You’re not getting any more radiation than you do if you spend the day out in the sunshine,” she said.
“Plenty of patients ask, but techs should not give information and should not even react to what they’re seeing on the image,” Edwards said. “They aren’t doctors, and while they do know how to get around your anatomy, they aren’t qualified to diagnose you.”

“It’s important to come back every year because your body changes,” Novak said. “Women can be scared to death the first time, but we make it as easy and comfortable for them as possible.”
