On November 13, 2018 President, Karen Johnston, called to order last One Club meeting of the
year. Karen welcomed members and thanked the 2018 officers for a successful year. Karen
asked for a motion to approve the minutes from the last meeting. Thea Adell, Vice President,
moved to the floor for members’ vote and membership approved the minutes.
One Club Treasurer, Shade Robinson, updated members on One Club’s financial standing.
She told the club that we are in good standing to make a nice gift to Regional One in honor of
the NICU 50th Anniversary.

Regional One Health Spotlight – President and CEO, Dr. Reginald Coopwood
On behalf of the Regional One staff and patients Dr. Coopwood thanked One Club members
for their continued support of ROH. He then provided the membership with a “spotlight
moment” on Regional One Health moving forward. He described the way ROH’s innovative
complex care initiative works with super-utilizers who seek healthcare through emergency
room visits. Dr. Coopwood explained that creating authentic relationships with these patients
has brought amazing results. The initiative is improving the health of vulnerable residents,
reducing the frequent ER visits and has brought a $1.9 million benefit to the ROH bottom line.
One Club President, Karen Johnston, gave a quick One Club update and presented three gift
options for discussion. The membership voted to purchase a special rocking recliner for
families to use when visiting their newborn in NICU.

Regional One Director of Special Events, Mary Catherine Burke, gave the membership an
overview of the One Club member page that is on the ROH website. Mary Catherine asked
members to visit the page and send feedback as needed.

One Club Volunteer and Events Coordinator, Amanda Damron, updated members on recent
and upcoming service opportunities for the end of the year. The Tailgating with Turner Tower
was a huge hit and over 200 were served. Amanda thanked Kathy Sapp and Central Bar-b-que
for the delicious food. On December 12th and 19th volunteers will deliver Christmas cheer to
the ROH clinics. Please see Amanda if you would like to help.

One Club Membership Co-Chairs, Kathy Sapp and Ali Fowler, welcomed new members and
informed the membership that we are now 99 members strong. Please let Kathy or Ali know if

Karen thanked members for coming and for the amazing opportunity to serve as President of
One Club. She announced that next meeting will held at ROH East Campus on January 16th,
2019.
