Starting small can lead to big change. This message was shared by Dr. Reginald Coopwood, President and CEO at Regional One Health, in a guest column in the Commercial Appeal on October 30, 2014.

Dr. Coopwood shared that a recent survey shows that the majority of Tennesseans know that diet and exercise positively affect our health, but even though we are armed with this knowledge, we do not engage in regular physical activity or consume a healthy diet. The reasons given for why we don’t were diverse, but the two most prevalent were time and cost.

The column goes on to offer help through the Healthier Tennessee initiative which offers free, easily accessible ways for Tennesseans to start being more active, eating healthier and not using tobacco.
