Phil Shannon has been appointed to board positions with Tennessee Hospital Association (THA) and American Hospital Association (AHA).

Phil Shannon, Regional One Health board member, has been tapped to serve with state and national level health organizations.

Shannon was recently elected to the Tennessee Hospital Association (THA) Board of Trustees. THA is a membership organization that serves as an advocate for hospitals and health systems and the patients they serve. THA supports the work of its members to deliver accessible, cost-effective, quality health services.

Shannon will also become a member of the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Regional Policy Board beginning in January 2018. The AHA’s Regional Policy Board provides input on public policy issues, identifies needs unique to a region, and assists in developing programs to meet those needs.

Shannon spent the majority of his career in public accounting before retiring as a partner at KPMG LLP in 2001. His knowledge of finance, coupled with his commitment to improve his community, led him to service post-retirement. Shannon has been a member of the Regional One Health Board of Directors since 2008, and he served as chairman from 2011 to 2017. Prior to his service on the system board, Shannon was a member of the Regional One Health Foundation board.
