Kanak Das, MD

Kanak Das, MD is a physician at Regional One Health and an assistant professor in the department of medicine at University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He received his medical degree from Chittagong Medical College in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Dr. Das completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at University of Tennessee Health Science Center as well as his fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology.
“As I was growing up and deciding on my career, my mother advised me to be someone independent and useful to humanity,” Dr. Das shared. “This was instrumental in selecting my career as a physician, which I enjoy and adore.” Dr. Das believes in helping and listening to his patients, knowing something could be missed or misdiagnosed. “Every patient is unique and teaches something new, so it is important to patiently listen to the patient otherwise vital information to the diagnosis could be missed or the patient maybe misdiagnosed."
Dr. Das’ work has been presented in Las Vegas, Chicago, New Orleans, and Nashville. Dr. Das is a member of the American College of Physicians, American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterology Association, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine.
