Mohammed Elshafey, MD, MSc is an OB/GYN physician at Regional One Health. He earned his medical degree at Menoufia University in Egypt and completed his OB/GYN residency at Detroit Medical Center, Wayne State University. He earned a Master of Science at Al Azhar University.

Dr. Elshafey has been a practicing OB/GYN physician since 2016, seeing patients for general OB/GYN care, high-risk pregnancy, and reproductive endocrinology and infertility.

In his academic role, he is an assistant professor in the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine. His research focuses include clinical aspects of intrauterine growth restriction and pregnancies affected by congenital anomalies.

He has given national presentations on topics including ovarian stimulation and massive obstetric hemorrhage, and his work has been published in Archives of Nephrology & Renal Studies, Gynecologic Oncology Reports, Clinical Research and Reviews, ACG Case Reports Journal, and more. He is a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology.

Dr. Elshafey is fluent in English and is a native Arabic speaker.

Outside of work, he enjoys cooking, playing soccer, and playing chess.
