Merkita Lester, MSN, APRN, FNP-C is a family nurse practitioner at Regional One Health. As a primary care provider, she sees patients for health promotion, disease prevention, and treatment of chronic and acute illness at the Primary Care Specialists location.
Merkita earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Baptist College of Health Sciences, graduating magna cum laude; and her Master of Science in Nursing-Family Nurse Practitioner at Austin Peay State University. She holds certifications as an advanced practice registered nurse, family nurse practitioner, and registered nurse.
As a patient-focused nursing professional with over 20 years of diverse clinical experience, Merkita prides herself on her ability to establish a rapport with her patients. She uses that skill to evaluate, diagnose and treat a wide variety of conditions, and has extensive experience in gynecology, adult health, pediatrics, HIV/AIDS care, and chronic disease management.
Merkita is a member of the Honor Society of Nursing Sigma Theta Tau International, Greater Memphis Area Advanced Practice Nurses, and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
She is also active in the community, volunteering for organizations including Friends for Life and Baptist Operational Outreach.
