Meghan Madea, DNP, CNM, WHNP-BC, PMH-C
Meghan Madea, DNP, CNM, WHNP-BC, PMH-C, is a certified nurse-midwife who sees patients at the Hollywood Primary Care and East Campus midwifery practice for Regional One Health.
Meghan is also an Instructor in the College of Nursing at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice at UTHSC and Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. Meghan is a Certified Nurse Midwife and also a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She also holds a certification in Perinatal Mental Health and is a Certified Lactation Counselor.
“I became a certified nurse-midwife because I respect women and what our bodies were made to accomplish,” Meghan shared, “I believe that every woman deserves to have the birth she desires, and I consider it a joy to accompany so many during this journey.”
Meghan enjoys being a nurse-midwife because of the relationships that she builds with her patients. “I can form relationships with my patients and their families,” Meghan said. “I believe all women deserve access to safe and compassionate care, and I have dedicated the majority of my professional life to working with underserved women.”
Meghan’s experience has included hospital births and home births with the Amish population in central Pennsylvania, and she has worked internationally as a certified nurse-midwife. “I have embraced the different cultural beliefs surrounding childbirth,” Meghan shared.
She embraces patient-centered healthcare and supports women throughout their lifespan. “I acknowledge the physical, psychological, and social impacts that accompany every woman differently during their pregnancy, and I respect that no two experiences are the same.”
