Mary Billstrand, MD oversees anesthesia providers at Regional One Health, including attending physicians and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists; and serves as chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

Dr. Billstrand earned her medical degree at University of New Mexico School of Medicine and completed her anesthesiology and critical care residency at University of New Mexico Hospital. She is board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology.

She brings a wealth of patient care, leadership, and teaching experience to Regional One Health and UTHSC, most recently serving as professor and executive anesthesiologist director of Surgical Services in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at University of New Mexico.

Her research and publications have focused on regional anesthesia related to post-operative pain. Her work has been published in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and Journal of Surgical Research, and she is a frequent presenter and lecturer at professional conferences nationwide.

Dr. Billstrand is a member of professional organizations including the American Society of Anesthesiology and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia.
