Loyrirk "Float" Temiyakarn, MD attended medical school at University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) in Memphis and completed his internship and residency at UTHSC. Dr. Float completed his fellowship in Interventional Radiology at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York, NY. Dr. Float's background in biomedical engineering has given him a unique insight into how technology can benefit patients.
"I initially trained as a biomedical engineer, with the goal of developing the next generation of medical instruments and techniques," Dr. Float shared, "As an interventional radiologist, I now personally get to use these cutting-edge tools and minimally invasive techniques as well as seeing my patients benefit first-hand, which is both rewarding and fun."
Dr. Float is happy to be back in the Mid-South full-time and calling Memphis home. "Having completed both my medical school and internship training here in Memphis, I have fallen in love with the city," he shared. "I am excited and honored, not only to bring back my training and experience from my Interventional Radiology fellowship at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell, but to also live and work back in the Mid-South."
