Ericca Jones, FNP-BC, MSN, is a family nurse practitioner at Regional One Health. Jones received her Master of Science in Nursing degree from University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in Edinburg, Texas.
“The first step to improve health outcomes and disparities is to understand an individual’s risk and environment,” Jones said. “Being aware of the needs within my community, I became a nurse practitioner to give back to my community through the act of service.”
Jones bases her health care philosophy on a quote by Mahatma Gandhi that states, “It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver.” “I believe that providing exceptional care and meeting the needs of an individual’s mind, body and spirit is the key to true wellness,” Jones shared.
Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Jones started her career as a registered nurse in medical and surgical trauma intensive care units. It was during this time she discovered her love for trauma.
“As a trauma nurse practitioner, I understand that it is my job to not only care for patients’ acute injuries but also provide holistic care in order to achieve balance and restoration,” she said. “With my knowledge, skill set and passion for caring for others, I am granted the opportunity to make a difference and have a positive impact on people’s lives.”
