Deirdre James, MD is a physician at Regional One Health who sees patients at the Outpatient Center and East Campus.
Dr. James earned her medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville. She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where she also completed her chief residency.
Dr. James’ love for serving others is the primary reason for choosing to become a physician. “I wanted to become a physician because serving others and making them feel better is extremely rewarding to me,” she said. Quoting the great poet Maya Angelou, Dr. James lives by the philosophy that “ They may forget your name, but they will never forget how you made them feel.”
