Marina Santa Cruz Terrazas, MD, is an OB/GYN physician at Regional One Health and an instructor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Dr. Santa Cruz Terrazas, originally from Caracas-Venezuela, received her medical degree from Private University of the Valley in Bolivia and completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

“For me, being able to build a connection with my patients based on their confidence and trust of my abilities is an unparalleled quality of the patient-gynecologist relationship,” Dr. Santa Cruz Terrazas said. “I aim to provide the highest standard of care for each and every one of my patients.”

Dr. Santa Cruz Terrazas’ favorite philosophy is ‘Treat your patients how you would like to be treated’, a statement she follows thoroughly. “My patient’s best interests always come first and I treat them how I would want to be treated if I were in their position,” Dr. Santa Cruz Terrazas shared. She loves caring for her patients during the most pivotal time in their lives. “I am honored to provide care for women at some of the most pivotal times in their lives –entering womanhood; changes of pregnancy and motherhood; menopause; and ensuring women’s physical and emotional well-being in a holistic manner.”

Dr. Santa Cruz Terrazas’ work has been published in academic journals in Bolivia and at Private University of the Valley. Upon graduating from her residency training program, she was the recipient of the OBIE award, which is given to a resident in one’s graduating class that exhibits excellence in obstetrics. “I am proud to have earned this honor, but I am also driven to deliver that continued excellence in care to all of my current and future patients.” Dr. Santa Cruz Terrazas is fluent in Spanish and is able to accommodate the needs of Latin and Hispanic patients.
