Palliative care is a medical specialty that is delivered alongside curative treatment and in close collaboration with a patient’s treating clinician. It is designed for patients of all ages and at all stages of a serious illness or condition.
As the level-1 trauma center and certified burn center for the Mid-South region, Regional One Health cares for the most seriously injured patients. After a life-changing traumatic event, the additional support our team provides can promote healing and overall wellbeing. Palliative care is also important for people living with serious illnesses. Patients with stage 3 or 4 cancer; late-stage heart, lung and kidney disease; or functional decline related to aging or chronic health conditions are among the many who can benefit from palliative care.
