Roberto Levi-D’Ancona, MD, FACOG is an OB/GYN at Regional One Health and an associate professor and clerkship director in the department of obstetrics and gynecology at University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Dr. Levi-D’Ancona received his medical degree at University of Florence School of Medicine in Florence, Italy. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at University of Florence School of Medicine in Florence, Italy and University of Illinois at Chicago in Chicago, IL. Dr. Levi-D’Ancona did his fellowship in advanced gynecology and critical care at University of Illinois at Chicago in Chicago, IL.
“I became a physician because I had a great desire to provide care and help everybody, those who could or could not afford healthcare economically with equal rights for everybody,” Dr. Levi-D'Ancona said. Dr. Levi-D’Ancona states that he loves trying to reach any patient in need by making them feel comfortable and putting their trust in him. “When approaching a patient, one should be him or herself, humble, confident, but at the same time, sympathetic and a good listener.”
Dr. Levi-D’Ancona believes in always being honest and letting patients know what you can and cannot do for them. “You must be able to provide an alternative, whether it is medical, surgical, or referral approach,” Dr. Levi-D’Ancona shared.
Dr. Levi-D’Ancona is a recipient of the 2016 APGO Excellence in Teaching award from University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
