Mahmoud Hassouba, MD, PhD

Mahmoud Hassouba, MD, PhD is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Regional One Health’s Firefighters Burn Center. His areas of expertise include critical care and burn and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Hassouba earned his medical degree at Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, where he also completed his plastic and reconstructive surgery residency.

He completed a plastic surgery fellowship at University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis and a plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at Ain Shams University Hospitals.

Dr. Hassouba is an assistant professor of plastic and reconstructive surgery at UTHSC.

He is the author of two book chapters, and his research has been published in the Journal of Burn Care Research, Annals of Plastic Surgery, and Journal of Craniofacial Surgery. He has presented at professional conferences across the country.

He is a member of the American Burn Association.
