Ian Solsky, MD, MPH is a board-certified surgical oncologist with Regional One Health Cancer Care. He specializes in the treatment of patients with a variety of gastrointestinal, soft tissue, and skin malignancies with an emphasis on peritoneal surface malignancies, which are cancers that have spread to the lining of the abdominal cavity.
Dr. Solsky earned his medical degree at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, New Jersey. He earned a Master’s of Public Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston, Massachusetts.
He completed his general surgery internship and residency at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York, and his complex general surgical oncology fellowship at Atrium Health-Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery in general surgery and complex general surgical oncology.
Dr. Solsky is Assistant Professor of surgery in University of Tennessee Health Science Center’s Department of Surgery Division of Surgical Oncology. He is a member of the UTHSC Center for Cancer Research.
His research focuses on trying to better understand and improve the patient experience of receiving cancer care. His work is published in journals including JAMA Surgery,Annals of Surgical Oncology, and many more. He is the author of book chapters and online publications, and has presented at professional conferences nationally and internationally.
Dr. Solsky is a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Center Occult Primary Panel and the Society of Surgical Oncology.
