Giancarlo Mari, M.D., FACOG, cares for high-risk pregnancy patients as the medical director of the High-Risk Obstetrics Program at Regional Medical Center. A widely published researcher and internationally recognized author in the field of fetal therapy, Dr. Maris work has changed the standard of care in fetal anemia.

Dr. Mari has brought cutting edge surgeries to Regional Medical Center. Intrauterine therapy for fetuses is one of the developing frontiers in Maternal-Fetal-Medicine (MFM). Dr. Mari is one of few MFM specialists in the United States who performs surgery on fetuses, currently done at only 10 centers in the US and none within 700 miles of Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Mari received his medical training in Napoli, Italy before completing an OB/GYN Residency and Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine. He has been recognized in Best Doctors in America and was selected as one of "America's Top Obstetricians and Gynecologists." Dr. Mari is Professor and Chair of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the The University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
