He also completed a regional anesthesia and perioperative ultrasound fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
He worked as an anesthesiology resident in Jamaica, West Indies for over five years before starting his training at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
During that time he received the Government of Jamaica achievement awards for academic excellence and his role in community development.
