On our journey to excellence, one important component is the education of our physicians on the rapidly changing landscape of health care.  In an effort to address issues such as new payment models, value based purchasing, and building an integrated system, Regional One Health and UT Regional One Physicians are pleased to announce the development of a physicians’ leadership education series.   Please join us for our first educational conference at the luxury Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa located just three and a half hours away in Birmingham, Alabama.  Key note speaker and workshop facilitator is renowned speaker Dr. Daniel Zismer.  This is an invitation only event with limited availability and CME credits.

  • This conference is for UT Regional One Physicians and their spouses. Thursday night lodging along with all conference meals will be fully paid for by Regional One Health Foundation.
  • Any non-organized conference activities or extended weekend stay will be at each individual’s own expense. Discounted room rates are available.
  • Attire for the conference is business casual. If you choose to bring children, please make arrangements for their care during organized conference activities.
  • The spa is offering a 10% discount on all services for our conference. Please reference Regional One Health when booking your appointment to receive the discount.
  • For those who would like to arrive early, we have reserved (4) tee times on Thursday, November 19th for our group to play before the welcome reception. The discounted cost is $100 per player. The times are: 11:30am, 11:40am, 11:50am and 12:00pm. Tee times slots must be reserved by October 28th. Please let Mary Catherine Burke know if you would like to reserve one of the times.
  • Note: Ross Bridge Golf Resort estimates about 5 – 5 ½ hours to play the golf course.

The integrated model of healthcare delivery is expanding as the industry of healthcare in the U.S. consolidates. The integrated model provides  potential for innovation of :clinical models and  practices, strategy, organizational design and partnerships. High-performing integrated health  systems engage physicians effectively in all aspects of organizational design, strategy and operations. The presentation will focus on the roles and responsibilities of physicians and physician leaders in high-performing integrated health   systems.

Daniel K. Zismer, Ph.D.

Zismer

Dr. Zismer serves as Professor in the Division of Health Policy and Management, School of Public Health, University of Minnesota, where he is Chair and Director of the Masters in Healthcare Administration and Executive Studies Programs. He also serves as The Wegmiller Professor in Healthcare Administration and as Adjunct Associate Professor, Division of Medicine, Medical School, University of Minnesota. His areas of interest are the design, strategy, operations and financial performance of integrated health systems.

Prior to joining the University of Minnesota, Dr. Zismer focused a 20 year career in health care on provider-side mergers, acquisitions and related integrated strategies. He served as the head of two national healthcare consulting firms (one he co-founded and sold) and headed operations of a large, multi-state, integrated health system.

Dr. Zismer serves as a frequent lecturer to the American College of Healthcare Executives, American College of Physician Executives, and is a board member and advisor to a private, healthcare real estate development company. He has authored and co-authored in excess of 100 professional publications and was named by Minnesota Physician as one of the most influential healthcare leaders in Minnesota.
