Louis Magnotti, MD, MS, FACS is a trauma surgeon at Regional One Health and a professor in the department of surgery at University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Dr. Magnotti received his medical degree from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ, where he also completed his internship and residency in general surgery. He did his fellowship in trauma and critical care at Elvis Presley Trauma Center. Dr. Magnotti also holds a Master of Science degree in epidemiology from University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
Dr. Magnotti was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha and is a member of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma, Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, Surgical Infection Society, Society of Critical Care Medicine, and Harwell Wilson Surgical Society. Dr. Magnotti's special interests include shock and gut-induced sepsis, shock-induced distant organ injury, and traumatic brain injury.
