Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery/ Urogynecology is a subspecialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology that focuses on disorders of the pelvic floor. Common pelvic floor disorders include prolapse or descent of pelvic organs from their normal anatomic position; urinary leakage; overactive bladder; painful bladder syndrome and leakage of stool.
Dr. Hafsa U. Memon subspecializes in diagnosis and treatment of these and several other pelvic floor disorders. Dr. Memon completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and then finished a three-year fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. She is certified by American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Dr. Memon offers a full range of diagnostic and management options for pelvic floor disorders, including conservative treatments such as pelvic floor physical therapy, medications, pessaries as well as surgical options when appropriate.
