R. Ian Gray, MD, MBA, is a radiologist at Regional One Health and an associate professor in the department of radiology at University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Dr. Gray earned his medical degree from University of Tennessee Health Science Center and his Master of Business Administration degree from University of Memphis. He completed his internship and radiology residency at University of Tennessee/Methodist Healthcare and his fellowship in neuroradiology at Barrow Neurologic Institute in Phoenix, AZ.

“My dad was a physician and my mom was a nurse, so I grew up seeing how much of a difference they could make in the lives of their patients,” Dr. Gray shared. “I see becoming a physician as a way to make a difference in the lives of others for the better.”

Dr. Gray believes that changes in technology call for changes in medicine. “I believe that modern medicine, in the days of the Internet, has to be one of engagement and empowerment,” Dr. Gray said. “We must provide our patients with what they need in order to take charge of their own health.”

Dr. Gray is a member of the American Society of Neuroradiology, American College of Radiology, and Radiological Society of North America.
