John Fitzsimons, MD attended medical school at Northwestern University in Chicago and completed his residency at University of Florida Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. Growing up, medicine was the profession of choice in his family.

"I was raised in a family of 10 children. Six of my siblings achieved MD degrees," he shared. "I quickly discovered that I had a sincere interest, and I have been blessed to have found an occupation, which I find both challenging and rewarding."

Dr. Fitzsimons credits his father with helping him develop his patient-centered approach to healthcare. "My father was a clinical pathologist at Northwestern University. I would frequently eat lunch in his office during my medical school training, and I learned from him that it is important to place the needs of others before your own," he shared. "I believe that we are all God's children and that my degree is a gift from God intended to be of benefit to mankind."
