Regional One Health held its 4th annual barbeque cook-off to raise funds for the American Heart Association’s Mid-South Heart Walk on October 30, 2015.  More than 30 barbeque teams competed for a space at the world famous Memphis in May Barbeque Festival. Money is raised for the Heart Walk at this cook-off through registration fees, food and t-shirt sales, and other activities during the event.

The event included entertainment provided by Regional One Health employees, Memphis Business Academy marching band and choir and more. Members of the executive team at Regional One Health also supported the American Heart Association by taking part in creative fundraising activities during the event, such as being “jailed” until funds were raised or being taped to a wall with duct tape purchased with donations to the cause.

This annual cook-off is one of several fundraising events held by Regional One Health to support the American Heart Association in the fight against heart disease, which is the number one killer of Americans.

The Regional One Health team will be participating in the Mid-South Heart Walk on Saturday, Nov. 7, at Court Square Park, located at the corner of North Court Avenue and North Main Street in downtown Memphis. The non-competitive three-mile walk is open to everyone, including local companies, friends and family. For more information about the Heart Walk, visit www.midsouthheartwalk.org.
