The Training and Development Department at Regional One Health is an approved American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center offering Basic Life Support (BLS), Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS). As an AHA Training Center we strive to support state and national regulatory requirements and to further develop the national level certification status of staff at Regional One Health.

Commitment

Volunteers of American Heart Association Volunteer Program are obligated to instruct a minimum of two (2) classes per year for each discipline in order to continue affiliation with Regional One Health.  American Heart Association volunteers are required to maintain punctuality and consistent attendance, while accomplishing the minimum service requirements.

Qualifications

  1. Must possess a sincere interest in the mission and vision of Regional One Health and have great interpersonal skills, exemplify a positive attitude and is service oriented.
  2. Have current AHA provider status in the discipline of the Instructor Course, and be proficient in all the skills of that discipline. Disciplines include ACLS, BLS, and PALS.
  3. Successfully complete the discipline-specific Instructor Essentials online course, and print the course completion certificate.
  4. Successfully complete the discipline-specific classroom Instructor Course.
  5. Successfully demonstrate competency in facilitating an AHA course. You will be monitored teaching the first course within six months after completing the Instructor Course.
  6. Must pass a background check, complete tuberculosis screening and immunization review, and Volunteer Orientation.
